Melanie Edwards
Founder & CEO
Melanie’s experience spans both the private and public sectors: previous to starting Mobile Metrix, she worked in management for J.P. Morgan, International Data Group (IDG) and as an executive for Key Accounts at AT&T. She launched the Global Technology Corps, a “digital Peace Corps,” with the U.S. Department of State and co-created the United Nations Information Technology Service (UNITeS). She is a Return Peace Corps Volunteer from Togo, Africa, a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow at Stanford University and an Echoing Green Fellow. Melanie is currently Director and Lecturer of Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford University.
Patrice Capitant
COO
As Chief Operating Officer, Patrice brings to Mobile Metrix over thirty years of success as a technology leader and mentor in high-tech companies. Patrice is a 25-year veteran of Silicon Valley and a pioneer in digital video who has managed R&D for organizations including Macrovision, Sony and Compression Labs. He is currently chair of the board of TransAccess, a non-profit that provides persons with disabilities access to adaptive technology and career transition services so that they can achieve their desired education and employment.
Nicolas Palazzo
Operations Manager
A native of Argentina, Nicolas has extensive research experience in the fields of social policy and labor informality in Latin America. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Stanford University where he also received a Firestone Medal for his research on social security in Argentina. He has worked and studied abroad in the fields of census documentation and analysis in Oaxaca, Mexico, and Cordoba, Argentina.
Alexander Carlos da Silva
Community Coordinator & Tech Support
A native of the community Morro dos Macacos, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Alexander manages and coordinates community outreach for Mobile Metrix in Brazil. By connecting local, community leaders with Mobile Metrix services, he helps in maximizing the impact of data collected. He brings to Mobile Metrix his experience as a MobileAgent™ Team Leader during the initial Mobile Metrix pilot in Morro dos Macacos. He is also a CDI professor of technology and technical advisor for CEACA, a community-based NGO. Alexander expects to complete a degree in Technical Information to advance the use of technology as a tool for social and economic impact.
Emily Rummo
Social Impact Manager
Emily’s role with Mobile Metrix focuses on articulating the company’s theory of change and developing metrics for social impact analysis. Emily is currently pursuing an MBA and masters in education at Stanford University. Prior to graduate school, Emily worked as a senior analyst with NewSchools Venture Fund for three years. NewSchools is a non-profit venture philanthropy firm that invests in social entrepreneurs who are working to improve K-12 public education. Prior to her role at New Schools, Emily worked for two years as a consultant with Dean & Company, a small strategy consulting firm in Washington, D.C.
Jane Kim
Finance Manager
As Financial Manager, Jane has contributed to the financial analysis and development of Mobile Metrix’s 10-year operating plan. Jane is currently a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She has worked for Fundamind, a Buenos Aires-based NGO focused on helping HIV-positive children. She also has worked in investment banking for Goldman, Sachs & Co. With her professional investment banking background and experience in international community development, Jane provides unique insight and business knowledge.
Dilyana Dimova
Analyst
As a Data Analyst, Dilyana has analyzed the census data and the contributed to identify the greatest needs in surveyed communities. She has applied her statistical modeling and data analysis skills to areas as diverse as healthcare, welfare benefits, technology and utilities industries. She has been a Research Analyst with the Sphere Institute and the ERSGroup and holds a degree in Economics from Stanford University. While at Stanford, she concentrated on issues concerning the economics of developing countries and has authored papers on the financial liberalization and the health and income inequalities of emerging economies for which she was awarded the Anna Laura Myers Award for Excellence in Research. Dilyana is a native of Bulgaria.
